What You See: Long beaches, dramatic coloured-sand cliffs, natural sandblows, rocky headlands and pristine freshwater lakes and streams are some of Fraser Islands spectacular natural features. The island is most famous for it's dingos, four-wheel-driving and beach highway and the shipwreck, which has a rich aboriginal history behind it from the Butchella tribe which once inhabited the land.
Extra Costs:-Your $90 local fee + $10 fuel alowance is payable direct to Palace Backpackers Hervey Bay to cover: Fraser Island Daily Commercial Activity Fees, Fraser Island Camping Permits, a vehicle insurance reducer, return ferry transfers to and from Fraser Island and fuel for the entire trip.
-Allow $9pp if you want to hire a sleeping bag
-Allow $20 per person for food& drinks group contribution
-Guests will be asked to contribute toward a share of a $500 cash vehicle bond which is refunded in full if the vehicle is returned undamaged. Salt water driving or single vehicle accidents forfeit the bond.

Your Fraser Island Tour visits a number of regions on the island, including:
6.30am - breifing and departure from Palace Backpackers Hervey Bay
8.30am - barge transfers from River Heads to Wangoolba Creek on Fraser Island
9.15am - arrival onto Fraser Island where the fun begins! Visit:

2pm on Day Three - depart Kingfisher Bay Resort for River Heads
2.45pm on Day Three - arrive back on Australian mainland, and depart River Heads for Hervey Bay
3.15pm approximately on Day Three - arrive back at Palace Backpackers Hervey Bay for a final celebratory dinner with your group and guide.
Departs:
Stargazer Guided tours depart Hervey Bay DAILY.
Each tour will meet their tag-along guide at Palace Backpackers at Hervey Bay at 4pm the day prior to departure for a pre-trip orientation and organisation. During this time groups are allocated to vehicles, and guides assist with the purchasing of food and drink for the trip. (With prior arrangements late arrivals can pick up supplies morning of departure). It is important all guests attend this orientation.
On the morning of departure, a video and safety briefing is held at 6.30am which includes driving safely on sand and being dingo safe. It is compulsury for all passengers to attend this breifing.
Returns:
Customers arrive back at Palace Backpackers Hervey Bay by approx 3.30pm on Day 3 of their tour.
