There are many great boats in the Whitsundays, however there are only a few which are independently owned and operated.  Iceberg is co-skippered and managed by brothers Luke and Tristram Mairs, who have both been sailing since age 7 and have 5 years Whitsunday charter experience. A trip on Iceberg is a unique sailing experience.

Iceberg was built as a performance racing boat for the famous (Rolex) Sydney - Hobart Yacht Race in the 90s. She has a full complement of powersails that propel her with the same speed as when she first slid through the water. The trimmed sails provide an exhilarating angle when sailing upwind. Her bow pierces through the waves, refreshing splashes come complimentary. An aluminium mast of 25m and aluminium hull provide an ultimate light but tough built.

Our tour takes you right amongst the nicest Whitsunday Islands. Each tour visits the beautiful Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island. A short walk takes you up the Hill Inlet Lookout, from where you have a breathtaking view over Whitehaven Beach. The tour stops in various of the dreamy Whitsunday Bays for snorkelling. Underwater you’ll find a whole world of itself, full of colourful corals and fish.

Amongst the islands we regularly visit are Whitsunday, Hook, Dumbbell, Langford, Hayman, Black, Border and Esk Island. Every tour is a little different, we travel to the best locations for the individual conditions.

Iceberg’s builder did not only want to race the tough southern ocean, but also have a boat that allows to cruise the tropical Australian waters of Queensland. The result is our fabulous Iceberg, a timelessly beautiful and successful design. She has large flat decks with a comfortable cockpit on the back deck and an easy transom entry. Down below you will find 5 accommodation spaces with 2 private double bed cabins, 1 private twin cabin and a shared dorm style accommodation. A comfortable salon in the centre is the ideal place to celebrate a day’s sailing with a delicious dinner. The galley features 2 fridges, 1 for the exclusive use of guest’s drinks. There is of course a toilette/hot shower facility, too. Iceberg takes a maximum of 12 guests and operates with 2 crew.

Iceberg is a member of the Whitsunday Charter Boat Industry Association.
