Itinerary

Day 1 (L& D)

Adventures Beyond 2 Day Kangaroo Island Wildlife Adventure.

Pick up from Adelaide CBD or Glenelg accommodation

  • SEALINK ferry to Kangaroo Island
  • Prospect Hill
  • Pennington Bay
  • Kayaking at Vivonne Bay (summer program only) OR
  • Optional Quad Bike Tour with Kangaroo Island Outdoor Action with Kangaroos ($79)
  • Flinders Chase National Park
  • Remarkable Rocks
  • Admirals Arch
  • Nocturnal Activity; looking at Little Penguin
  • Optional Hanson Bay Nocturnal Tour ($22)
  • Enjoy the campfire

Day 2 (B& L)

  • Sand Boarding at Little Sahara
  • Guided walk with ranger on the Beach with the Sea Lions at Seal Bay
  • North coast of Kangaroo Island
  • Stokes Bay
  • Snorkelling (Summer program only)
  • More photo time
  • More sightseeing
  • More beautiful beaches
  • SEALINK ferry to Cape Jervis
  • Return to Adelaide at around 08:30pm

May return with Dolphin Charter Boat or Sealink Ferry depending on weather and other circumstances.

Day 3 (L& D)
With an early start, we head north through one of Australia’s oldest wine regions, the Clare Valley. We enter the Southern Flinders Ranges and after lunch hike Dutchman’s Stern for stunning views of the Spencer Gulf and surrounding ranges and plains. Tonight we camp, amongst the redgum trees ofStony Creek.

Day 4 (B, L& D)
After breakfast we head to Coober Pedy, home to 80% of the world’s opal and a landscape a lot like Mars. We take a tour of a mine and check out some of the town’s unique underground attractions. Tonight we sleep like the locals– underground, in bunkhouse accommodation at theUmoona Opal Mine.
Day 5 (B, L& D)
We head towards Uluru with our new Desert Patrol group. On arrival we set up camp at theAyers Rock Resort Campground and go out for our first Uluru sunset. Nothing really prepares you for The Rock– it’s awesome!
Day 6(B, L& D)
After another fantastic breakfast we enjoy a walk around the base of Uluru and spend time learning about the Aboriginal people at the Cultural Centre. We return to the campground for lunch and spend the rest of day soaking up the magic of Uluru. 
Day 7(B, L& D)
Up with the birds for breakfast, today it’s at Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). We hike the majestic Valley of the Winds with its incredibly ancient rock formations. Lunch is at the campground, with a departure for the bar and swimming pool atKings Creek Station‘just down the road’.
Day 8(B& L)
We walk Watarrka (Kings Canyon) to experience the fantastic views of the gorge, huge sandstone walls and the immense canyon floor. The cool water hole in the Garden of Eden is just so special. After lunch we cruise into Alice Springs.

Itineraries often change due to the weather, the wildlife and the adventure.  Adventures Beyond guides have the freedom to change itineraries as they require to ensure the most wildlife is seen and to ensure every groups has the best time possible!
